Center for Advanced Manufacturing
The Center for Advanced Manufacturing is a workforce and education collaboration between Bowling Green State University, the University of Findlay, and Owens Community College. The Center works with area employers to identify and anticipate immediate, mid-term, and long-term needs in workforce training, talent development, innovation, automation, systems integration, and supply chain management. In addition, the Center serves as a centralized resource where the business community can bring specific workforce needs for customized training solutions.
K-12 and Higher Education
Hancock County is serviced by several local school districts, with the majority of K-12 students attending Findlay City Schools, Liberty-Benton Local Schools, and Van Buren Local Schools. All of our local school districts place a high priority on developing young people with the skills and attitudes that today’s successful companies require.
The region also has a number of 2-year and 4-year colleges and institutions including the University of Findlay and Owens Community College’s (OCC) Findlay campus.
OCC and the high school-level Millstream Career Center also provide career-focused education in high-demand areas such as welding, engineering, computer-aided design, automation control, fluid power hydraulics, and office administration — ensuring that local business has a steady pool of educated and trained employees.
