FINDLAY, Ohio, November 11, 2016 –┬áConstruction of a 21,290-square-foot, two-story office building, south of Allen Township 215 and northeast of the wind farm serving Whirlpool Corp. and Ball Corp., will start in weeks.
A plan for the One Energy office building was approved Thursday by Findlay City Planning Commission. The building will be completed by March, said Jereme Kent, general manager of One Energy. The company sells energy from the five wind turbines to Whirlpool and Ball.
With One Energy growing, the office building will house 40 to 50 employees by early 2018, up from the 26 now occupying trailers at the site, he said.
One Energy is building wind turbines to supply energy to Whirlpool plants in Ottawa and Marion. It has several more projects coming in northwestern Ohio, which it plans to announce in the next four months, Kent said.
Separately, Werk-Brau Co., 2800 Fostoria Ave., won approval of plans to build a 48,000-square-foot manufacturing building northwest of its existing 33,750-square-foot plant.
Employees will be added, but Jon Ballinger, Werk-Brau president, declined to say how many and when building construction will start.
Werk-Brau makes attachments for heavy construction equipment. Jobs will be added in fabricating, machining and welding, Ballinger said.
The company currently employs 260.
