Manufacturing components and assemblies is nothing new to the workforce in Findlay and Hancock County. It’s been a key part of our economy from early in our history, and we continue to be the home of numerous manufacturers.
Thanks to our proximity to major automotive and appliance manufacturers, our communities have become major suppliers to other manufacturers. That’s especially true when it comes to extruded and formed plastic parts, assembly of components, wiring harnesses, and similar elements for which quality and reliability are critical.
In addition, our transportation infrastructure helps us keep our costs competitive. For example, many producers benefit from the area’s abundant rail service, allowing them to order carloads of plastic pellets and chemicals. Rail and truck transport make it easy and affordable to deliver finished components and assemblies wherever they’re needed, especially for just-in-time manufacturers.
